This is a used device developed to enhance the video image when one video tape is copied to another. It's not widely known that, every time one tape is copied to another, there is a loss in image and sound quality.

This device is used to connect a two VCR's. When a tape is recorded from one to the other, the two knobs on this device allow for an increase in video gain or audio gain or both to help minimize the loss in signal quality. It comes with it's own power supply.

No instruction manual is included. It would be best to make a short test copy, adjusting the gain knobs and taking meticulous notes about what you did. Then play back the copy to see the results to better understand what you need to do for optimum quality. After experimenting and finding the best settings, you can procede to copy an entire tape.   The device listed here isn't a cure all. It is only an aid in maintaining the highest quality acheiveable in a copy. There will always be some quality lost in copying analog signals even when using this device.
